Tropical Jellyfish Paintings
AS much as I don’t want to have any run-ins with Jellyfish, I hope you’ll agree that my new Tropical Jellyfish Paintings are a happy bunch.
Growing up on Maui I spent a fair bit of time at the beach. Also at the beach were the bright tropical sea creatures…underwater where they belong. Also making an appearance: Jellyfish. Before you run away….read on! 😉
Since I have a happy palette of saturated vibrant watercolors, I wanted to focus on these rich jewel tones to start my new series of these incredible jellyfish. (Did you know that scientists discovered a jellyfish that lives….forever?! It’s called Turritopsis dohrnii. )
Back to painting. First one in the series is the Blueberry Jellyfish. He is full of blue with pops of purple and teal for good measure.
I loved them so very much as my favorite color is…Blue! I even made waterproof stickers out of this design.
After I completed the Blueberry Jelly, I asked my AWESOME Instagram friends and fans to pick the next color! They voted on ORANGE! So up next is the Orange Sherbet Jellyfish! I made art prints out of this new design…and also managed to sell out of the stickers at last check!
The final design in the Tropical Jellyfish Paintings is the Lime Green Jelly…because green is such a happy go lucky color.
I invite you to take a look at the rest of my ALOHA ART collection at my shop. Maybe you will find something to bring a smile to your SPACE. 🙂 (or a sticker for your water bottle! 😉
Aloha, Mika
