Pineapple Treats

Did you know pineapples don’t grow on trees? 🙂 They are in the Bromeliad family and are grown in carefully curated fields in tropical climates; my home state of Hawai’i grows about 1/3 of the world’s pineapples!

Pineapple YUMMY Recipe

When I want a sweet treat with minimal effort, I like to create a quick refreshing tropical drink:

PINEAPPLE FIZZ DRINK

  1. 8 oz chilled pineapple juice (any unsweetened pineapple juice will work, often sold in cans)
  2. 4 oz. chilled sparkling water (lime flavor or orange flavor is nice, but unflavored will work too!)
  3. ADD the pineapple juice to a large glass filled with 1/5 of ice (or no ice if you prefer your drink straight)
  4. Gently pour in the sparkling water (gently so it doesn’t bubble over the top of your glass)
  5. Stir once or twice with a spoon, and drink up!
  6. You can adjust the ratios of the pineapple juice and sparkling water to suit your taste

I am sure I didn’t invent this drink, but this is one of the easy ways I like to add a bit of Hawai’i to my day and make my day a little brighter. 🙂

These pineapples are so cheerful! I’ll have to try that recipe—I’ve been on a grapefruit kick lately, so I may even do that with grapefruit juice and seltzer! ☺️✨

    Aloha Mika darling,
Your pineapple art is just lovely – I have remaining just one pineapple postcard made by you, and I’m keeping that one for always! (I’m keeping you for always, too!)

Your recent colorful + artsy newsletter says: “Many of you have asked where I keep the paintings before I sell them. Here you see they live on the walls of my studio until they get sold and sent to their new home!…”
Such a nice display! Oh, how I wish I could take YOU home with me for display.
You just happen to be my most favorite and unique piece of art EVER!
    Me ke aloha pumehana
    + big love,
    Pattycake
